On Thursday, I went to Chicago, a dance studio & club on Hornsgatan. Every other Thursday night, The Sacuye folks arrange a “social” there — basically a laid-back and fun occasion for social dancing. It's a great opportunity for practicing what one has learned in one's dance lesson.
And speaking of lessons: I arrived at Chicago a bit early, and there was a lesson in progress. It was a ladies' styling lesson, wherein women learn how to do all those fancy & showy moves, and learn what movements to do with their hands, heads, and well, just about every other body part. I recognized some of the women in the class from the salsa class I attend on Wednesdays.
I sat back and enjoyed the show, waiting for the lesson to finish.
I met this girl later in the evening. Her name is Alexandra.
Fancy footwork.
Linda.
After the lesson was over, they turned down the lights and started the music.
Alexander and Lina, two of my fellow students from the Wednesday class.
I danced a couple times with this girl too. She's named Caroline. She was a good dancer!
I handed my camera to Joakim so that I could get at least a few photos of myself to post here. He snapped this excellent shot of me dancing with Sanna.
Pierre takes Alexandra for a spin around the dance floor.
Joakim and Eva seemed to have a good time too.
Linda & Agneta. What are these lovely ladies doing sitting on the sidelines? They should be dancing!
Emma. I don't know the names of many of the guys because I don't dance with them. :)
Here, Liza & Ibi impress the onlookers. She can do as many spins as a man can lead: 2, 3, 4, 5 — whatever! :)
Emma again.
Pierre the comedian.
Time to call it a night!
